Hm..
I wonder what life would be like?
Yesterday, i watched the Activist journey..
This episode really really really touched my heart..
A mother at first wanted to abandon her child which is just a baby but then finally had her heart to take care of her child and can't simply bring herself to throw.
She's strong even though the environment that she lives in is tough, she managed to take care of her baby..
Another part was about a granddaughter who sacrificed herself to find a job as a prostitute to pay for her grandmother's medical fees..
It's really really touching but i somehow felt that life is totally unfair to her!
She's only my age and she's doing a job that is suitable for a 20+age could possibly do!
To her, her grandmother is more important than her dignity.
I felt sorry for her!!
During June holidays, i went to Philippines to do some service-learning.
Trust me, if you guys went there, and see how the children survived for a living, you guys can cry over there!
I also went to their school..
Their school was only four storey high and the school is right next to the rubbish dump which is quite high enough !! Around 7 storey high?
There was 1 day, that we were painting the walls of the school, when suddenly there was a wind.
The wind came in from the rubbish dump.
Trust, me, the smell was so bad that one of my juniors felt like vomiting.
I can't do or say anything, because to me that was nothing to be compared to what those children have been through.
They can study and play and listened to the teachers even though the weather was very hot and the smell from the rubbish dump .
I also shocked to see from the school window that there were may houses build beside and just right beside the landside of the rubbish dump.
Some of the residents can still drinks tea on top of the roof with tables and chairs made up of wood.
When i was painting, i saw this little guy, running here and there..
Looking at us, who were working on the painting..
Wanted to try out here and there.
The boy was very friendly and kind.
Some of us took his pictures.
He's kind.
Then when we went back to the house that we were suppose to live in, on our way in the bus, some of us, saw a group of children picking up rubbish !!
Some of them even if saw a piece of bread, they even pick it up, and blew it then just eat it.
I know that we were told about the country problems and etc, but i wondered, why can't the government helps this childrens?
Why won't they help their families?
When i saw this, i did not say anything because, i was too shocked to say a word.
This is my 3rd time i saw this happens.
This is only at Philippines.
Not at Indonesia.
Indonesia worst!
Some of the kids there even resorts to stealing.
They became pickpockets.
And some of them, polished people's boots or shoes to get a coin to buy a bread.
And when they bought the bread, they will share it with their friends.
When i came back from Philippines, when i first reached to the airport or gather with our families, i heard some of my juniors saying "Aaah.. This is what i called Home".
I laughed.
Cos to me , Singapore have been my home and always will be.
I told my sister and my parents all of my experiences occurred at Philippines.
I even told them about the museum.
For Philippines, i like the museum better than the shopping centers ,
There, i saw lots of little figurines and paintings and then i realised that was the exhibitions.
There was a part that i saw a village or somewhat house where there is a flag and lots of villagers were fighting.
There was different colors of people.
Then i realised that was the war.
The war between Philippines and i dun remember ..which country was it.
They were fighting about the country's rights and everything.
But one of the important members get s to escapes!
That's all i know ..
Hm..
To me, life is wonderful because i can find out more interesting things going on around me.
Okay then..
That's all for now.
(Smile always)
=D
